About<\/span><\/span><\/h4>
I grew up on the island of Gotland, and one of my earliest arcade memories is the few arcade games that were stationed on the ferry between Gotland and the mainland of Sweden. In the town where I was born and raised, we had a few pinball machines, cocktail cabinets, and some generic stand-up arcade cabinets scattered around town as well.<\/span><\/h5>
During the summer, we had an arcade open near the sea featuring pinball machines, a NEO GEO cabinet, and a Sega Rally driving cabinet that I used to play as soon as I could afford it.<\/span><\/h5>
Many years later, when I was pursuing the dream of building my own arcade cabinet I discovered Arkadtorget, a Swedish arcade forum filled with enthusiasts and friendly collectors. My dream of building my own cabinet faded quickly when I saw pictures of Japanese candy cabinets, and a few weeks later I received my first arcade cabinet, a Sega Blast City with a tri-sync monitor.<\/span><\/h5>
I bought an Xbox 360 and a few of the CAVE ports available at the time and really enjoyed playing bullet hell shmups. That was until I experienced playing CAVE games on a real arcade PCB at the first local arcade meetup I visited around 2011.<\/span><\/h5>
Since then, I have been collecting cabinets, PCBs, and other memorabilia, and have also made a few trips to Tokyo with my local arcade friends.<\/span><\/h5>
This website is my love letter to Japanese arcades in Tokyo, a small piece of Japanese arcade culture in a Swedish basement.<\/span><\/h5>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row padding_top_multiplier=”” padding_bottom_multiplier=”2x”][vc_column width=”1\/3″]
